Could have been a nice capture card for those in europe that are on Astra sat because that has a lot of free to air channels. Technically the card seems ok and comes with all the stuff you need (cables, s-video adapter, antennas, remote control). I paid 59 euro for it. The included manual is less than minimal only covering the hardware installation (with pictures of the wrong card). Problem is the included software. I could only get it to work with the included drivers and Cyberlink PowerCinema suite. I tried three driver updates for WXP which all three failed. PowerCinema is a special oem version from 2007 and is never updated. Afaik other versions won't work with this card. I searched without succes for other software that supports this card. The PowerCinema suite covers all hardware options (Analog digital TV, sat and FM radio, teletext) but I dont like the wizard style interface. I tried analog capture from the s-video in connection. VirtualDub sees the card as DirectShow device and allows to set up the video properly. The card has build-on audio and vdub occassionally hung when I tried to change settings. I was able to capture DVB streams directly which are written as mpg files. Although the bitrate is reported as 15 Mbps, my Philips 5990/12 DVD player can play them without problems from a USB stick. I rate it low because of the software and the fact that there seems to be no alternatives for it. As said, the hardware works ok and is quite value for money.
